Number with no business name (Unsolicited call) reported by L. Turner

Robo call - the robot wants to verify recent purchases - even though- per the fraud department at Mountain America CU it doesn’t have access to you bank account - I verified the number was legitimate by calling MACU customer service - this fisrt started by receiving a random text- no identifying info- but asking me to verify my purchase - with card ending in numbers xxxx - not knowing who sent text - I responded “no” - received another text say - Mountain America Credit Union will call you shortly - please answer the call - over three hours later I get a call from a number I’m not familiar with and I didn’t answer it - no message was left - possible scammers - this is where I called MACU customer service and they verified the number. So, long story short - you will enter “Fraud” department hell - it is a call center who contracts with various VISA cards - regardless of the business of where you applied for the card - **** poor service - unprofessional customer service - 20 minutes hold time - once you answer the robot questions you are immediately disconnected from the call and have to call back (the 20 minute hold time) to talk to a real person to make sure your account is ok and you can still use your card. Absolute **** nightmare!

VERIFIED SCAM (Robocall) reported by Kristy

They claimed to be my credit union fraud prevention services. BUT, the first red flag was that they were calling about a visa debit card that had been stolen and therefore closed out a few weeks ago. The second red flag was that they asked for the last 4 digits of my social security number. At this point I hung up and called the number on the back of my credit card. They verified that they had NOT called me and to never give out my personal info on an incoming phone call. Bottom line for me, is if you get a call like this, hang up and call the number on the back of the card. It IS possible - and actually pretty easy - for scammers to imitate phone numbers and caller ID.So of this IS a legit number, if you hang up and call the number on the back of your card you'll be safe every time!

this is an automated number, leads me to believe my credit union is trying to call me about account activity, but a credit union won't ask you for your visa card number unless you give it to them. Very much a nuisance.Do not call these types of places back. They're just trying to steal your financial information. Credit unions do not do this, at least mine doesn't anyway.Beware of this financial service scam.
