How to Claim Prizes | New York Lottery (2024)

If you have a winning ticket for any New York Lottery draw game, you have 365 days from the date of the winning draw to claim your prize. Scratch-offs must be claimed within one year of the game end date.

You must check your tickets and come forward before the deadline, otherwise you will miss out on any prizes you would have been due. The method for claiming your prize depends on how much you have won. Find out more below about how NY winners can claim prizes. You can find out the location of your nearest claims office further down the page, whether you live in Manhattan, Yonkers or anywhere else in the Empire State.

  • If you win a prize up to and including $600, you can claim it by taking your winning ticket to any New York Lottery retailer. Alternatively, mail your entry directly to the NY Lottery or visit a claim center.
  • If you win $601 or more, you can claim by mail or from a Customer Service Center.

You can claim prizes of any value by mailing in your winning ticket to the address shown below:

If you win more than $600, you need to complete a claim form and send it in along with your winning ticket. Make sure you fill in your details on the back of the ticket and make copies of all the documents. You will also need to include a valid form of government-issued identification.

It is recommended that you use registered mail and include a return address. Mail-in claims must be postmarked 24 hours before the winning ticket's expiry date.

Claims in Person

All prizes up to and including $600 can be claimed from a licensed NY Lottery store. You do not need to complete a claim form but you need to present the original winning ticket to be validated.

If you are claiming more than $600 in person, you need to provide a claim form, valid form of ID and your winning ticket. Visit one of the Customer Support Centers shown below. You will need to schedule an appointment at the Customer Service Centers, although you can also redeem prizes at casinos such as Empire Casino and Resorts World, which do not require an appointment.
