In 1949 the Custom nameplate was used for Ford’s top trim level and in ‘57 the name returned. The Custom 300 series was all new and the 1957 models were unmistakable with their long flanks and tailfins. Sleek and subtle, this professional build has received some nice custom touches and performance upgrades while still retaining all its handsome factory style. The current owner is just not driving it much anymore and is seeking a new caretaker who will really appreciate and enjoy it. Clean and clear title in Owner’s name.

Two-tone Teal & White is a beautiful way to go for a ‘57 Ford as it perfectly compliments the body lines and captures fifties flavor. Lower, leaner and wider than their more bathtub shaped predecessors, this design took Ford into the modern age. Unaltered from stock the look is bold and clean and is aesthetically pleasing from every angle. A set of tasteful alloy wheels wrapped in modern rubber give it just the right street machine flair and much better drivability. The stylish V-shaped chrome trim sweeps down the sides and highlights modest fins and rocket tail lights.

Perfectly coordinating with the exterior, the two-tone Teal & White vinyl is done in the right materials and is factory correct. The custom steering wheel adds some hot rod flavor and combined with the modern rack ‘n pinion power steering & 4-wheel disc brakes gives you much better control. The Dolphin gauges fit perfectly in the stock dash without calling attention to themselves and accurately monitor all your vital signs. Visibility is excellent, seats are comfortable, C4 transmission shifts smoothly and precisely in this entertaining environment.

With just 922 miles on this rebuilt 302 V8, you have bulletproof dependability and plenty of power on tap. Mated to a C4 Automatic transmission you will experience ease of operation and relaxing, trouble-free motoring. Easy and inexpensive to service and maintain and it is also quite an impressive jewel to see when you open that long hood at the car show and check out the Ford Racing valve covers, aluminum intake and open element air cleaner. 4-wheel disc brakes provide sure footed stopping power, a major improvement over stock.

The car has only been lightly driven since the engine rebuild and runs and drives like new. That 302 has plenty of power and the C4 Automatic shifts smoothly and effortlessly. Brakes are firm and suspension is tight. The undercarriage is very clean with little to no signs of surface rust. The paint has a deep shine showing minimal surface scratches due to light use. The interior shows minor wear. The sides are arrow-straight and the chrome trim and bumpers are very nice. It’s a showstopping driver, not a trailer queen, so this is a car you can fully enjoy.

This is an affordable classic and a timeless build with just enough modern dependability and power and custom upgrades to make it more fun to drive and a lot safer too. The design is one of Ford’s best of the late fifties and gave its Chevy Tri-5 rivals some stiff Blue Oval competition. Values continue to rise on the auction block and this one will no doubt stand the test of time quite nicely.
